Spring Cleaning! Today's focus is wardrobe. I'm totally guilty of having way too many clothes for my own good. Yes, i wear most of them, but not all of them. It's time to clean out that closet!
You're going to want to separate your clothes to 4 categories: Keep, Donate, Fix and Trash.
Follow the golden rule of closet organization: If you haven't worn it in a year, you probably won't wear it again.
1.) Look over your closet, and bag all of your unwanted and unworn clothes for donation.
2.) Set aside those that have tears or missing buttons for fixing.
3.) Trash things that have been worn in beyond repair, like shoes and undergarments that we would not want to donate.
4.) Keep everything else that you wear within rotation.
Some things to keep in mind to keep your closet organized and clutter free.
- Flip all hangers backwards each time you clean out your closet. As you start to wear things and put them back the right way, you can quickly tell which items you haven't worn the next time you do some closet cleaning.
- When buying an item, try to envision at least 5 different ways you can wear the item with things you already have in yourcloset.
- For closet staples, buy high quality items that will last, see my closet staples below:
