IMATS Haul and Recap

This post has been a long time coming! I went to the 2016 International Makeup Artists Trade Show (IMATS) in LA last weekend.  I did a lot of shopping, so I wanted to show off my haul and share my recap of the event! I'm also planning on doing a giveaway, so stay tuned!

5 Ingredient DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

It's winter, and most of us are dealing with dry skin and peeling and chapped lips. Try this lip scrub that can easily made at home, you just need a few ingredients:
  • Small airtight container like this
  • Coconut Oil
  • Honey
  • 1 drop of vanilla extract
  • Sugar (you can use whatever you have, white or raw brown sugar)
  • Vitamin E (optional)
  1. Start with your sugar - put a few table spoons into your container.
  2. Next mix enough honey to make the sugar stick together - about 2 parts sugar to 1 part honey.
  3. Next put a small amount of coconut oil a little at a time. You want it to look like wet sand.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and a small amount of vitamin E gel if you have it available.
  5. All you have to do, is mix the ingredients together to create a paste and then rub them into your lips.

This mixture will exfoliate your lips and dead skin will rub right off. Wipe and rinse it all off with water when you’re done to reveal smooth lips. Make sure to moisturize after to keep them from drying out again. Here's some of my favorite lip balms that will help to seal in the moisture.

Happy Scrubbing!

Fringed Out

 grey fringe skirt

Fringe is so fun! I bit late, but here's the look I wore on NYE. It would be a great outfit for any night out or special occasion. This is the Great Plains Grey Suede Fringe Skirt from LuLu's. I knew I had to pair this statement skirt with more subtle details. I opted for a sweater cropped tank and my go to Member's Only leather jacket. The shoes are the Stacey from Steve Madden. Check the product below to get the look.

Rocksbox Review + Free Month

I recently got to try Rocksbox and I wanted to share my experience! It's a curated jewelry service that lets you rent jewelry and return anytime to get new pieces. It's great for people like me who love accessories, but don't want to commit to buying all new pieces all the time!

First, you take a style survey and then you can favorite different pieces you like from their collection. A stylist will then send you 3 pieces that fits your style results, and usually one of them is from the pieces you've favorited. The packaging is super cute! The 3 pieces come in small individual bags inside of their cute Rocksbox box. There's even a personalized message with your name on it. You even have the option to purchase the jewelry if you really like it using your credit given each month.

Shipping is usually fast, and once you return your set, they will send you a new set. I've been able to get 2 sets within 1 month so I could get the most out of the membership. It's perfect for bloggers like me, so I can feature new pieces in my different #ootds. The jewelry selection that they have is on trend and high quality. I love that they have Kendra Scott, Vanessa Mooney and House of Harlow pieces. I'd recommend trying the service for a few months. It especially comes in handy if you have events like weddings coming up where you can use a new statement piece.

Try it free for 1 month with my code: THREADSNBREADSXOXO

I loved these Loren Hope Crystal earrings. They were perfect for New Year's Eve and this glittery hair look.
