IMATS Haul and Recap

This post has been a long time coming! I went to the 2016 International Makeup Artists Trade Show (IMATS) in LA last weekend.  I did a lot of shopping, so I wanted to show off my haul and share my recap of the event! I'm also planning on doing a giveaway, so stay tuned!

Before I went to the convention, I knew I had to do some research on the different company booths that were going to be there. The one booth I wanted to visit most was Morphe Brushes! These brushes are highly affordable and their products are a youtuber and blogger's fave. Their line was a bit ridiculous, but I waited anyway. I picked up a bunch of brushes (listed below), single eyeshadows, lashes and the sold out 35O Palette at a great price! I also stopped by Dose of Colors and got some of their liquid lipsticks and lip gloss. Tarte, LASplash, and NYX were also some must stops. Kat Von D was the last booth I hit up for the day because I knew the line was also long for this one. Most of these booths had some good show discounts that ranged from 20-40%.

My best tip if you plan on shopping, is to do your research. Check out the brands, products and swatches online ahead of time so you can get an idea of what you're looking for. If you have no game plan, you may end up with buyer's remorse and buying just to buy. I was able to bypass the long line for Dose of Color because I already knew which products I wanted and didn't wait to swatch the products. Also, check out some of the smaller brands. You may find the next cult product or discover a new product perfect for you!

Also, check out the schedule of classes and lectures if you're interested in learning more about industry topics. My boyfriend is really into Special FX so he was able to catch some of his favorite artists and learn from them.
